Remix- the act of mixing two borrowed media together. Sometimes that don't belong. One

of my projects I did for my Writing for Digital Media class was a remixing project, I had to pick two things and "mix" them together. I, being the person that I am, picked to remix Disney and 80's song lyrics into a comic strip.

Since I am going to Disney in the matter of two days then a Disney Cruise, I thought maybe I'll share my project with you guys! Now I got my media from a bunch of different sources. I started with was Beauty and the Beast with Every Rose has It's Thorn by Poison.

Now I picked this song for Beauty and the Beast mainly because of the

obvious, the topic of the Rose in both the movie and the song.

I also like how the lyrics kind of describe Bell's and Beast's relationship. How their relationship is a rose and a thorn.

The next comic I chose to make is Aladdin

and Eye of the Tiger by Survivor. The comic strip is of Jasmine and Rajah (Jasmine's pet Tiger). I chose this song because of the "Tiger" in both the song and the movie.

I know another obvious pairing. But I also chose it because Jasmine and Rajah are kind of just "surviving" under the control of being a princess.

They are not happy with their current situation and having an arranged marriage.

So I thought this song would be very suited for their situation, the empire basically being their "rival".

For the next comic, I decided to mix Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs with Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart.

Okay, I'll point out the obvious again (if you don't see that pattern yet) is the heart. Both song and movie both have something to do with "hearts".

The evil queen/step mother wanted Snow White dead so she could be the most fairest of them all, so she hired a huntsman to kill her and deliver Snow White's heart to her. I also picked this song because of the emotion behind it. The huntsman ended up not doing the act because of this emotion. And I think that emotion is one of the biggest parts of the movie.

The next comic has to do with girls, that just want to have fun. Remind you have a Disney character? If you guessed Rapunzel from Tangled you are correct! I mixed Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Want to Have Fun with Disney's Tangled. A girl trapped by her mother in a tower just wanting to go see the floating lights that happen every year on her birthday. Just for a couple days she wants to have fun outside before returning to her tower forever. If that's not a match made in heaven, I don't know what is.

Okay, the last and final comic is a mix of the Jungle Book and wait for it........ Welcome to the Jungle by Guns N' Roses.

Now I was looking through some songs to make into another comic strip, having some writers block when my boss asked me what I was doing.

He told me to do Welcome to the Jungle which then connected my brain to the Jungle Book.

Since Mowgli and Baloo make the jungle into a dance party half the time, it kind of makes sense to put this song with these characters.

I also can't get the picture of Shere Khan being the lead in this song. This song says evil tiger all over it!

Well everybody I hope you enjoy these comics just as much as I liked making them. Just let me know what you think, I can do some remixing a little bit more for the blog.
